The All-Road Wheelset: One 25mm Rim for Tires from 28 to 45mm

9th Wave Anath One Carbon Wheels

You are looking for new wheels. Not a race-day special and not a project, but a good wheelset that fits your bike, rides well and that you can stop thinking about once it is on. That is what the Anath ONE All-Road is: a carefree wheelset for riders who simply want something good.

What an all-road wheelset is for

An all-road wheelset is first of all a practical choice. The Anath ONE has a 25mm rim that supports tires from 28mm road tires up to 45mm gravel tires, so it fits a classic road bike, an endurance bike with more tire clearance and even a gravel bike. Whatever bike it goes into, it runs the tire that bike is set up for. That wide range is not the reason to buy it; it is the reason you don’t have to wonder whether it fits.

And if you do want to ride something different once in a while, that is a nice bonus. Fit a wider tire for the Paris-Roubaix cyclosportive or the Tour of Flanders, and the same wheels are just as much at home on the cobbles as on a long mountain pass or your regular weekend ride. Should you ever move to a different frame, the wheels come along.

How one 25mm rim covers 28 to 45mm

The Anath ONE has a 25mm internal width and a hooked, tubeless ready rim. That width is wider than most classic road rims, so a 28mm road tire keeps a good shape and gets proper sidewall support. It is narrower than our dedicated gravel rims, but still supports a tire up to 45mm, which covers most gravel riding on tracks and paths. Whatever width your bike runs, the right pressure follows from the tire: our Size & Pressure Chart shows where to start for your tire width and rider weight.

Why 45mm deep

The 45mm rim depth gives you aerodynamic ease on the road: at speed, a deeper rim helps you hold pace with less effort. The depth is also moderate enough that the wheel does not feel nervous or twitchy in a crosswind, which is what you want from a wheel you ride in all conditions, from an exposed Flemish road to a windy descent off a pass. It is a height chosen for confidence, not for a wind tunnel chart.

Built for every kind of ride

A wheelset you ride everywhere has to be reliable, and the Anath ONE is built that way. DT Swiss 370 hubs are known for their reliability and straightforward maintenance. Alpina Extralite aero spokes, bladed and J-bend, cut through the air more cleanly than round spokes and stay easy to true. The brass nipples hold their tension over years of riding, not just the first season. And the ART asymmetric rim design balances spoke tension more evenly between the drive and non-drive side, so the wheel keeps its shape under everyday load, and on a cobbled sector, instead of slowly going out of true.

It also looks the part. The finish is a subtle UD carbon with primer-grey accents on the rim and hubs, a design that suits almost any bike, whether it is a road bike, an endurance bike or a gravel bike.

What you give up

A rim that works with everything from 28 to 45mm is not the specialist at either end. At 1574g, the Anath ONE is not the lightest wheelset in our collection: it is the most all-round. If you spend most of your time on gravel and like big tires, a wider rim is the better match: the Anath 423 SL has a 33mm internal width for tires up to 62mm, and the SandStone SL goes wider still. If you race on the road and every gram matters, one of our dedicated race wheelsets is the better tool.

Who the all-road wheelset is for

The Anath ONE is for riders who want a good wheelset without overthinking it: well built, carefree and suited to whatever bike they ride. It brings 9th Wave quality, an asymmetric rim, aero spokes and DT Swiss hubs, features you rarely find in this segment, to the entry point of our range. Hand built in the Netherlands, and once you register, the carbon rims carry a lifetime warranty.
